Charge!

I’m not looking for a white knight,

Upon his mighty steed;

I’m searching for my own Excalibur,

For I am different breed.

I’m not a damsel in distress,

Waiting for someone to rescue me;

I am my own champion,

And I am fighting to be free.

I will not stand meekly back,

Toeing your ever-changing line;

I will stride boldly forward,

For now it is my time.

I stand with sword in hand,

My shield is at my side;

I’m standing tall in front,

There is no more need to hide.

They say the future is uncertain,

That the end is surely near;

I’m not sure about the timeline,

But I’ll meet it without fear.

Don’t misunderstand me,

I have no will to fight;

I simply cannot sit idly by,

While wrong conquers right.

The tides and times are changing,

And nothing is the same;

It’s time to saddle up,

And get back into the game.
